January 25, Wednesday
They have slowly taken Kailey off the Tylenol and antibiotics and it seems she is holding her own. They did a bone marrow test this morning and once again….no leukemia cells have been found…wonderful, wonderful news (fever and feeling bad are classic symptoms of leukemia) and it seems her system is starting to recover from the last chemo treatment. Even though her blood counts are coming back slowly – again this is a normal thing, she is going home for a few days. She will be making her frequent trips to the clinic, but she can spend some time at home with family. Once her counts begin building, they will start the next …and last round of chemo. Kailey is sleeping a lot and acts a little tired, but you know her…she can be back to full speed quicker than what we realize. We will update you if there is any change in little Kailey and as soon as we know when the next round of chemo will begin.
Please continue to pray for little Kailey. She has been able to enjoy Thanksgiving, Christmas and now her birthday! How blessed can you be. Even though she has spent time in the hospital, she did not have to spend any time in intensive care and overall she is feeling well enough to go home!! Pray she will continue to improve and not have any additional setbacks. Pray the chemo will be completely effective in treating the leukemia. Pray for Kailey's medical team. Pray they will clearly see our Lord's direction in Kailey's treatment. We are so blessed! Pray Kailey will be able to begin the next round of chemo...and this will be the last round of chemo...as soon as possible. Pray she will be a witness to all who are following her journey. Pray everytime you think of little Kailey!
