September 28, Wednesday evening
Kailey was in rare form Wednesday evening. Seems the benadryl had worn off and her stomach had settled down. She had several visitors, too many to mention. The out pour of love and support has just touched the family in so many, many ways!! Two weeks ago we were thrown into something you cannot believe is happening. We entered into a time that stood still for us as we listened to doctors telling us things we could not believe. It was one of those times you know the Lord is carrying you, putting you where you needed to be, bringing a specialist into your life who "just happened" to be at the hospital when Kailey needed him. God has filled our lives with people who carry us. You are all part of this!!! We continue to get support from her family at her school. They are constantly "hugging" the family in so many, many ways. The family at Family Dollar have just poured out their hearts to Kailey. Kailey's soccer family has really gone out of their way to support the family, and like the school, are planning so things to help. The staff at the hospital and at the clinic have just gone out of their way to support us. Words can never say enough to let everyone know what a difference it is making in our lives. But most importantly, we have all become prayer warriors praying prayers of protection and healing, which is making all the difference in the life of Kailey right now. When you look at the photos of her, you cannot believe she has had chemo for the past 8 days. We have watched bags, and we mean bags of medicine, put into her system and it because of your prayers she is still vibrant and doing so very well.
Dr. Mogul came by yesterday evening and just told us he did not have anything to say. Kailey's counts are right where they need to be. She is doing great folks. As a matter of fact, there is a chance, if things stay stable, Kailey will get a four hour pass on Friday from the hospital!!! She is thrilled and really looking forward to "getting" out. Pray her counts will remain stable and she will be able to leave for this short time. Pray she will be able to leave the hospital and not experience any problems.
We have so many folks asking what Kailey needs and there is absolutely nothing she needs right now, but your continued prayers. Isn't that wonderful!!! As a matter of fact, she really has too many things, so we need to begin rotating things out of her room. Again, thank you for all that you have done. Kailey has truly had Christmas in September.
We have wonderful photos from Wednesday, but we are having trouble uploading, so check back for them!!! We are also starting to see comments from you, how wonderful. We know Kailey will love reading them.
Tomorrow is the last day of chemo for round one and Kailey has been spared from so many side effects and we know it is because of your prayers!!! Continue to pray for little Kailey!!! Pray to Our Lord in heaven to continue to spare Kailey from any chemo side effects and that the chemo will be effective in treating her leukemia.

Hi Kailey
I work where your Mom works and I have heard "Kailey stories" since the day you were born. Being in the hospital isn't any fun but the Doctors are making you well so right now you have to be there. But...Hey! Look at all the neat stuff you are getting! That has to be a little exciting. I just wanted to tell you that I know you will be your spunky little self soon.
Love ya,
Joan
